Hugh’s review: Coco

Coco

Friday 18th January 2019
7:30pm

The showing of this film is one of our special Film and Food evenings.

Previously we have had Italian – The Italian Job and Scottish – Whisky Galore

This one is Mexican. We will be showing the film as well as offering Mexican food and drink.

Coco is Pixar Studios at its best. Combining Oscar winning animation, great songs with a heartfelt story about families it tells the story of Miguel who wants to be a musician but his family has banned all music in the house since his great-great-grandfather walked out on the family to be a musician.

During the famous Mexican Festival, Dia de los Muertos (The Day of Dead) Miguel ends up in The Land of the Dead where he has to try and get back to the Land of the Living.
Meeting with many different characters, having many adventures and discovering some real truths, Miguel’s journey is a rollercoaster of fabulous visuals and imagination.

This evening is a real family event and we would love kids to come with their parents.
