There’s a reason why this film won two Oscars, and five BAFTA’s.

Because it is a really great film!

Every so often a film comes along that has it all. Fantastic acting with a brilliant script and an emotionally engaging storyline.

Frances McDormand plays Mildred who is enraged by the fact that the local police do not seem to be bothered about finding the killer of her daughter. So she pays to have three billboards outside her town to display a message which is guaranteed to get attention and upset many people.

This is just the start of the film but what ensues is a multi-layered story of small-time America with all its prejudices alongside real empathy with the characters plus a story of redemption.

Frances McDormand won an Oscar and a BAFTA for her portrayal of Mildred and she is the beating heart of this wonderful movie which is a real “must see” film.
